Happy New Year

I feel very blessed over here and hope the same for everyone for the new year. I'm on the first real vacation I've had since August, 2007 when I went to Newfoundland with Mom. I can't quite hardly believe it. Even though it has not been too cold, the last two afternoons I spent knitting by the stove, watching the light move across the house and watching everyone sleep. Occasionally falling asleep myself wasn't so bad either.

I've been knitting things for my husband. This is Celtic Harbor Hat from Blackberry Ridge Woolen Mill. It is the neatest little pattern with three layers for the brim.

Spey Valley socks are coming along, but painfully slow. Brigitta is completely stalled because it is too small and sewing it up has been hard.

Hi Thora, Happy New Year to you, too. I love the pic of your pooch snoozing in the winter sunlight, so peaceful.

That hat is gorgeous. I would really like to see it on a model when done as I think my stereo installer might like it. But he's kinda picky with stuff on his head so I'd like to show him the completed piece before I start knitting on it.

You asked me what a jelly roll was - it's 40 to 44 pieces of fabric, all cut 2.5 inches wide, then rolled into a "donut." Next time I'm thinking about it, I'll show a pic or a link.

Take good care. :)

I love knitting too-but you are a couple of levels above me. I can't quite "get" the instructions in the books. I'm a visual learner.

Gorgeous hat! How is Spey Valley coming? Is it done yet?
